Every Club in District 6450 Can Use

District News

There is an email scam currently going around that identifies the sender as Gee Conor J. from email address rotarydistrictss@gmail.com and is asking for gift cards in large dollar amounts.  Please note that this is a SCAM and is not coming from DG Conor.  Never respond directly to an email of this type.  Always verify by emailing independently with the person you think it is from.

  • The District Facebook Page is back! Make sure you check it out at https://www.facebook.com/rotarydistrict6450.

  • Local Global Grant Project - District 6450 is able to fund one or more local Global Grants that serve our communities.  These will be collaborative projects that multiple clubs will join together in either District-wide grants or grants for a cluster of Clubs.  We are looking for proposed grant ideas by December 8, 2023.  For further information and to submit ideas, use this form - Local Global Grant Form.

  • Mental Health Service Project Grant - In support of Rotary International President Gordon McInally's focus on mental health, District 6450 is offering grants for club projects involving mental health initiatives.  For more information and to apply click here - 2023-24 Mental Health Grant Application.

  • Environmental Service Project Grant  Your club can make an impact on the environment in your community by applying for an Environmental Service Grant.  Go to the new Environmental Service page on our website to find out more by CLICKING HERE.
Environmental Service Chair Mary Onorad has been busy doing programs for clubs on Operation Pollination and the MOMA Hope Monarch Tour.  Check out this article about her presentations - Operation Pollination Article in The Patch.

  • Oak Park-River Forest Kidz Express Initiative - In honor of longtime member Lesley Gottlinger, OPRF Rotary celebrated the opening of the Kidz Express computer lab.  Check out this article about the project - Kidz Express gets digital boost!

Great stories of hope and healing through adaptive scuba diving.

  • Maui Relief Fund, If your club and/or members would like to help those devastated by the wildfires on Maui, we have an important connection to help with the effort.  Heidi, daughter of Channahon-Minooka Rotarian Noreen Dollinger, is a resident of Lahaina and a member of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset.  The Rotary District 5000 Foundation has set up a Maui Fire Relief Fund.  Go to https://rotaryd5000.org/ to donate.
