Silver Eagle Award Nominations Open
NOMINATIONS DUE THIS WEEK!
Joliet Rotarians are encouraged to nominate individuals 65-years-old and older, who without fanfare, often go "beyond the call of duty" to contribute to their community. Please consider nominating a community volunteer for the Rotary Club of Joliet Silver Eagle Award. Forms will be available at Rotary meetings or the Silver Eagle nomination form and guidelines may be found on the Joliet Rotary web site- www.joliet.rotary.com. Or Contact Dan Kuska at djkuska613@gmail.com
 
We will be rewarding a deserving recipient in April 2016.  Completed nominations should be submitted no later than March 31, 2016. Students Participate in 20th Annual Joliet Rotary Club Youth Leadership Conference
 
2016 Joliet Rotary Youth Leadership Conference
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Joliet Rotary Youth Leadership Conference. The two-day conference was held on March 20 and 21 and included nine students from each of Joliet’s three high schools, Joliet Catholic, Joliet Central, and Joliet West.
 
Topics of the conference included:  leadership; decision making; communications; and ethical issues. Rotarians from various disciplines spoke to the students about these topics. The speakers were Rotarians Brother James Gaffney, Ed Dollinger, Mike Hennessy, Ken Mihelich, Brian Benton, Debbie Condotti, Kate Schott, Dr. Charles Coleman, Damon Sloan, Neil McManus and Mike Trafton. Also presenting were:  J.D. Ross, Judge Dinah Archambeault, Senator Patrick McGuire, Scott Slocum, and Brian McDaniel.
 
Rotarian Mary Jaworkski has been coordinating the conference for the past 15 years. Rotarian Jen Howard has been working with her for the past five years.
