ROTARIANS, DO YOU KNOW...??
In 1911, the Joliet Study Club applied to become a Rotary Club.
Their application was rejected as RI did not permit, or believe,
that a Rotary club would succeed in cities under 75,000 population.
Joliet had a population of 40,000 at the time. The 1913 "Joliet Business
Show and Efficiency Congress," advertised in the Chicago Tribune, was
a huge success. Thousands attended Including a delegation from
Chicago Rotary. Their critical exam of the event earned the Joliet Club
a meeting to discuss the means to approve a Rotary membership.

Membership & Foundation workshop

Before you know it, it will be time to gather for One Rotary Summit.  We’ll return to Moraine Valley Community College for a hands-on workshop on the synergy of Public Image, Membership and Foundation.  Pat Merryweather and her team will stear us through the workshops and provide hands-on learning with actionable take-aways to create more “vibrant clubs”.  Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 7th and register today.  This is another District no-cost event.One Rotary Summit Registration.  

 

Volunteers Requested:
The District teams, task forces and committees continue to seek out
Rotarians to help with the By-laws task force, the Finance Committee,
the Convention Task Force, the Holiday party team, Interact and
Rotaract coordinators and more.  Join your fellow District Rotarians
in fellowship and service.
