Program:  Pledge of Allegiance: Lightning Rod of Freedom

With all the controversy in the nation regarding honor and patriotism what great irony that October 8th is the 125th anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance. Barry Kolanowski has been studying and presenting the fascinating story about the origin of our pledge for a number of years, its changes and why it is a lightning rod for freedom.  The presentation begins with a historical flags display, the story behind those early US flags, and leads right into the 44-star flag to which the pledge was first spoken.

Speaker:   Barry Kolanowski
Introduction:  Dan Malinowski
