ROTARIANS, DID YOU KNOW...??
In 1935 Rotarian Dr. John Mitchell started the Crippled
Children Clinic. Joliet Rotary subsidized the clinic with
annual double-header basketball games in the JTHS gym.
After three years, the first game between De Lasalle (Catholic High)
and JT was held there. In spite of the intense rivalry and crowd
reactions, there were no problems.
Rotary donated a station wagon to the clinic in 1938. The Clinic
was eventually replaced by the March of Dimes.
