Rotary Welfare Funds Available
It is time once again to distribute monies collected by the Sergeant at Arms to worthy non-for-profit organizations in the Joliet community.
The Welfare Committee is beginning the process of disbursing the funds raised last year by the Sergeants At Arms, Diane Habiger and Jackie McTee. These funds are traditionally given to local social agencies with monetary requests between $500 and $1000. We ask Rotarians to be willing to sponsor a non-for-profit organization and submit a legitimate request for funds. If you wish to submit a request all that is needed is a brief description of what the funds would be used for, which Rotarian is sponsoring the request, and the amount requested.

These requests can be emailed to either or

All requests must be received no later than September 01, 2017.

Lead the way--Invite a guest and/or
Nominate a new member today!
You are a loyal Rotarian who enjoys the Club. Now invite someone else! It's easy and it is the privilege of EVERY current member. Start with an invite as a guest to lunch. If there is mutual interest, the application for members to nominate a potential new Joliet Rotary Club member, is available in the DOWNLOAD FILES section of the e-Wheel newsletter and the Joliet Rotary Club website at

Rotary Silver Eagle Nominees Welcome!
You are invited to nominate community volunteers for recognition via the 2017-2018 Rotary Club of Joliet Silver Eagle Award! This award honors seniors from the community for volunteer service and leadership. Please note nominees are not limited to those in social service agencies, rather can be from area hospitals, schools, universities, community organizations, private and public entities etc. So you are encouraged to expand your circle of possible nominees.
The main criteria is that the individual is 65-years-old or older, has often gone "beyond the call of duty," and whose contributions have positively impacted Joliet. Please note, while typically the volunteerism takes place in Joliet, we will consider neighboring communities if the efforts still mainly benefit Joliet. Please help spread the word and submit nominations by September 1, 2017.
Please submit nominations to Ines Kutlesa preferably via email at  Please put Silver Eagle Award in subject line. If needed, the following mailing address may also be used-Attention: Ines Kutlesa, CEO, Guardian Angel Community Services, 168 N Ottawa, Joliet Illinois 60432.
