CALLING ALL ROTARIANS!!
The Rotary Club of Joliet has made a commitment to support Rotarian Debra Condotti as Easter Seals conducts their annual Celebration of Giving Telethon. The event will be held on Saturday, April 14th at the Jacob Henry Mansion.

The Rotary Club of Joliet will have a VIP Team of 6 that will take pledges.  If you are interested in participating on our phone team please e-mail cmccarthy@tjhs.org immediately.  We will meet at the Mansion at 11:15 for training and be on air from noon to 1 p.m.

We will be collecting money from Rotarians at our April 3rd and April 10th lunch meetings.  We will take cash or checks.  Checks should be made out to Easter Seals. Our goal is to raise over $3000.00.  We have a friendly wager with the Kiwanis Club who believes that they will be able to raise more money than Joliet Rotary.

Your involvement will "Make a Difference" in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Thank you,
President Cheryl

Raffle Funds Available for Local Community Project
Joliet Rotarians are invited to nominate a worthwhile, local community project in need of funds to be the recipient of the club's raffle proceeds.  See history of projects funded here

The following guidelines must be met:
  1. Each project must be sponsored by a member of the Joliet Rotary Club.  If the project is selected, that member, along with a representative of the organization or group, shall monitor the progress and report on the implementation.

  2. The project must be a long term benefit for the Joliet community and will be used for capital expenditures only (bricks/mortar, equipment) not for operation or program support.

  3. The specific project must be clearly identified including the Rotary Club of Joliet recognition plan.

  4. The project will be funded up to $30,000. These funds are available as a result of the Annual Rotary Raffle Fundraising Event. Each year the anticipated dollar amount will be determined by the Board of Directors.

  5. Bids or estimates from professionals for all work and supplies should be  submitted with each application. Get application here.

  6. The Rotary Member sponsoring the project should return the application and supporting documentation to Dan Malinowski.
2018 Joliet Rotary College Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Joliet is seeking scholarship applications from students attending Joliet high schools. These scholarships may be used for tuition only at any accredited college or university.  The scholarship application includes essay questions about extracurricular and volunteer activities, college and career goals.

A total of six (6) scholarships each in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to seniors graduating in 2018; two from each of:  Joliet Township High School Central Campus; Joliet Township High School West Campus; and Joliet Catholic Academy. These scholarships will be provided in the form of a check made payable to the institutions accepting the scholarship recipients into an accredited two or four year college or university and may be used for tuition only. Children and grandchildren of Joliet Rotary Club members are not eligible to be recipients of these scholarships. Click here for Student Scholarship application and here for Scholarship info

We have made the process for submitting Scholarship Applications much easier. The students may now complete their applications and submit them in digital format to:rotaryjoliet@gmail.com. Thanks to Rotarian Gary Fuqua for setting up the account for us. If the students prefer to submit via U.S. Mail they can still do that. But using the email submittal method will hopefully allow us to receive applications from more students.

Also, students may have the applications hand delivered to our Rotary meeting on Tuesdays. During the meeting on March 20, 2018, Committee Member Brian Cedergren will be collecting Scholarship Applications. Please bring any applications that you have and deliver them to Brian at the meeting. Also, at our meeting on March 27th Committee Member Laurie Rambo will be collecting applications.

Students wishing to apply for a Joliet Rotary Scholarship may also obtain an application from their school counselors and will be accepted through deadline March 30th. Completed scholarship applications may be delivered to Dan Malinowski (815) 729-2229; dmalinowski@willetthofmann.com.

If any Rotarian or applicant has questions about the scholarship application, please contact Daniel Malinowski at rotaryjoliet@gmail.com.
