********************************************************** ROTARIANS, DO YOU KNOW? The Ethiopian President was on hand for the ceremony to start the immunization program. About 100 children lined up to receive the vaccine from their national President. Also in attendance were about 35 children, 5-10 years of age, all in wheelchairs, leg braces, or crutches. The 35 were polio victims with bent backs, withered arms, and twisted legs. They sang to the President: "It's too late for us--but don't let other children get polio. Do what you can to kick polio out of Africa." In a few days, nearly 10 million children were immunized!
