The Board of Directors of Rotary International District 6450, Inc. is pleased to announce the acceptance of the Report of the Governor’s Nominating Committee in naming Jane Hopkins, Governor Designate.

Jane Hopkins has been a member of the Rotary Club of Joliet since 1999. In that time, she served as President in 2009-2010, director, and chair of numerous committees. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Paul Harris Society member.

Jane is a founding member of the Rotary Southwest Leadership Council, bringing a regional group of Rotary clubs together to collaborate and support multi-club fundraising events. This group has sponsored a minor league baseball event since 2015, raising money for End Polio Now and encourages networking and cooperation between local clubs and the community. This, along with many other behind the scenes activities led to her being named Rotarian of the Year in 2015 and 2016.

Jane has worked as a Realtor for the last 16 years in Joliet, Illinois, including being elected to the Three Rivers Association of Realtors Board of Directors. She has also spent many years working with local community organizations, ranging from service as a board member of Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, president of the Will County Union of Kings Daughters and Sons, president of Childerguild, and member of Holly Club. Her community involvement involves being a founding member of the Joliet Grade Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence, serving on the Joliet Area Historical Museum Development Committee, and the Joliet Area Historical Museum Prison Coalition, the guiding organization in the reopening and revitalization of the Old Joliet Prison for historical and educational preservation.

Jane’s family includes husband Paul, two daughters - Rebecca, and Amy (a second generation Rotarian with Chicago Lakeview), and numerous transient puppies through her work as a foster for Help Save Pets an animal welfare society. When not serving her community, she is an avid seamstress and fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

If ratified at the Annual Meeting of the District on April 13, 2019 during the District Conference, Jane will serve as Governor Nominee in 2019-2020, Governor Elect for 2020-2021, Governor for 2021-2022 and Immediate Past Governor for 2022-2023.
