2018 Joliet Rotary Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Joliet is seeking scholarship applications from students attending Joliet high schools. These scholarships may be used for tuition only at any accredited college or university.  The scholarship application includes three essay questions about extracurricular and volunteer activities, college and career goals, and describing two influential people in the student’s life.

A total of six (6) scholarships each in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to seniors graduating in 2018; two from each of:  Joliet Township High School Central Campus; Joliet Township High School West Campus; and Joliet Catholic Academy. These scholarships will be provided in the form of a check made payable to the institutions accepting the scholarship recipients into an accredited two or four year college or university and may be used for tuition only. Children and grandchildren of Joliet Rotary Club members are not eligible to be recipients of these scholarships.

Students wishing to apply for a Joliet Rotary Scholarship can obtain an application from their school counselors beginning Feb. 26, 2018 and will be accepted through deadline March 30th. Completed scholarship applications may be delivered to Dan Malinowski (815) 729-2229; dmalinowski@willetthofmann.com.

Rotary District News

On Saturday, April 14th District 6450 and our neighboring districts are partnering to bring together people of action--Rotarians and their colleagues along with future leaders:  high school seniors, college students and young professionals.   We invite you to be part of empowerLEADERS, a morning of leadership, mentorship and scholarship.

Held on the grounds of Oakton Community College from 8AM until Noon, our Keynote Speaker will be the wife of our Rotary International President, Mrs. Juliet Riseley.  Juliet will inspire us with her presentation of leadership through Rotary service.

Our District’s support at the club level and as individual Rotarians, of this event is key to its success.  empowerLEADERS gives us the opportunity to celebrate Rotary and introduce a new audience to the people and businesses that embody Service Above Self.

Visit http://www.empowerleadersbynorthernilrotary.com/ where you will see opportunities to partner with us in this endeavor.  Whether you chose a sponsorship at $1,000.00 or an advertisement in the event ad book at $110.00, you and/or your enterprise are provided an opportunity to make a commitment to empowerLEADERS and to Rotary’s goal of inspiring and nurturing the next generation of leaders.  Each level of sponsorship includes opportunities for recognition and participation and to connect your business to the values and mission of Rotary.  Most importantly, with every sponsorship, you guarantee our ability to award scholarships to three young leaders in attendance.  When you partner with Juliet and the empowerLEADERS team you will “empower” the next generation of leaders.

Join us!  Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.
