Board Announces 2010-11 Raffle Changes

After much discussion, surveying the club members, and consulting with the Council of Past Presidents, the Board of Directors announces exciting new changes to the 2010-2011 Rotary Raffle!
Ticket sales will take place from August 17, 2010 through September 28, 2010. The project to receive the Joliet Rotary Raffle 2010-11 proceeds will be selected after all tickets have been sold. The more tickets that are sold, the more funds that can be devoted to a single raffle project. For example, if all 750 tickets are sold, the beneficiary's allotment would be at least $30,000. However, if less tickets are sold, the allotment for the project could be as low as $10,000-$15,000.
$6,000 of the Raffle proceeds will be allocated to provide 6 - $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors from Joliet Central, Joliet West, and Joliet Catholic Academy. The remaining funds will be dedicated to other Joliet Rotary Club service projects such as the Four Way Test/Dictionary Project, a centennial project, and operational expenses for the Joliet Rotary Club's Charitable Trust.
